I'm Sierra Sullivan, founder and publisher of The RAY. I too had a dream that I SO wanted to believe in but couldn't figure out how to make it work.  I had no idea where to start and didn’t believe that my dream was possible for me.  It felt way too overwhelming and beyond my reach.

AND I hear this ALL the time from the women around me. So many of us have GREAT ideas and yet something holds us back from pursuing them. We have ALL the excuses in the world ...

"I don't have enough time... I don't know enough about that to really do it ... I lack experience.... What would so and so think?... I could never make money doing that!.... I don't have any money to invest in this idea... Who am I do do this?... I'm not good enough, smart enough... and ON and On the Excuses go with every reason NOT to pursue our dreams!

Here is My (old) Story

5 years ago, I had a vision to create a magazine for women that would promote self-love instead of self-judgment.  I felt betrayed by mainstream magazines trying to make me into someone that I am not.  Deep inside, I knew I could change the face of women’s magazines in powerful ways.

Yet no matter how many creative ideas came up around this vision, I allowed my lack of knowledge and experience in the publishing world to limit me. I questioned and doubted my dream many times, asking myself, “who am I to fulfill this vision?”  

It took me 3 years from the initial spark of my idea to get to my first tangible step toward my dream. Why? Because I didn't believe my idea was something I was capable of. I was waiting for someone else to do it. I was hoping that one day there would magically appear a magazine that made women feel GOOD about who we are. I needed it. I wanted it. And I fully expected someone else to do it.

Then, after years of waiting, still feeling bad about who I was as a result of NOT having a magazine like that out there to support women like me, I found my thoughts obsessed with what that magazine would, could, and should look like.

I finally realized that maybe it wouldn't exist unless I did it. That maybe I was the one who was supposed to make this happen. And so I couldn't ignore the voice in my head ANY longer. It knew that it wasn't going to go away and that I needed to take action or I might just go crazy.

My next step was not easy. I still needed to find and own the courage to turn that dream into a reality. It was a big step and what I'm about to share is something crucial I did to make it happen for me.

I reached out for support! I began sharing my idea and dream with others. I found many women in my life who felt the same way I did and wanted this magazine too!

Excitement started to build! Momentum began and soon- with a posse of women by my side, I knew I had what it took to get the ball rolling! And so I DID!

My Story Today!

Today, I now have a flourishing online and in-print magazine with an enthusiastic readership and wide distribution of 10,000+

  I have inspired thousands of women across the country to own their beauty, honor their truth and shine brighter in life.  I’ve built a strong community of women who seek support in being the best they can while also loving and appreciating their greatness in each moment. 

But most importantly, I have personally grown and expanded my own sense of self-worth in the process.

I spend way less time feeling bad about who I am because my mission and commitment is to help women like you feel GOOD about who you are! My stand in life is to empower as many women as possible to love and accept themselves through the support and inspiration of my magazine, workshops, and events. As a result, I get to experience more love and acceptance for myself AND... knowing that I am making a profound and powerful difference in women's lives, every day, gives my life great purpose.
I truly am living the dream!
